London calls for Irish canoeing trio

CANOEING:

Slalom canoeists Hannah Craig and Eoin Rheinisch have qualified for London 2012 after their performances in the European Slalom Canoeing Championships in Augsburg, Germany.

 

Andrzej Jezierski, racing for Ireland, also qualified for London 2012 at the European Olympic Qualifier in Poznan, Poland. Jezierski took the second Olympic spot in the C1 (canoe kneeling) 200m sprint on Thursday.

Born in Poland, Jezierski, aged 31, has been in Ireland for the past six years and holds an Irish passport. He lives in Ballincolig, Co Cork, with his partner, Patricia, and three-year-old son, Alex, and trains at the National Rowing Centre in Farran Wood, Co Cork.
